Jones Stratos Men's Snowboard 26/27

The Jones Stratos snowboard has a tapered directional freeride shape paired with a freestyle board feel, making the Stratos incredibly playful and agile in powder and mixed conditions.

Profile - Directional Rocker

• A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more rocker in the nose, then rocker in the tail and camber between the bindings. The rockered nose improves maneuverability, while the camber underfoot provides strength and response.
• A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free when initiating turns and landing switch.

FLEX - 7/10

1. 3D Contour Base 2.0 - Moderate 3D base contours featuring an even balance between the 4 mm edge bevel at the nose and 4 mm at the tail. The spoon bevel begins at the rocker point.
2. Progressive sidecut - At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius increases progressively as the edge reaches the contact point. The gradual increase of the sidecut radius toward the contact point provides smoother turn initiation and exit, because the edge enters and exits the snow with a smoother, more flowing transition.

Blunt Nose - How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow more than an inch deep, is dictated by it’s front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow coming out from behind the tip means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer nose without the ‘snow plow’ rounded tip and it’s extra swing weight. - Jeremy Jones
 

Core

• FSC™ Ultra Core - The new Ultra Core is Jones's lightest wood core yet. Made mostly from paulownia with specially positioned poplar stringers for better durability and turning power.
• V-Core - V-Core boards are slightly lighter right in the middle of the board for improved maneuverability and stiffer in the tip and tail for stability and pop.

Laminates

• Sustainable Flax / Basalt Stringers - The flax and basalt composite stringer helps transfer power from edge to edge, facilitates the board's torsional response and absorbs vibrations and impacts.

Base

• Sintered 9900 Base - Ultra-high-molecular-weight sintered polyethylene with carbon additives.

Edges

• Traction Tech 3.0 has three bumps on each edge (front binding, center of the board, rear binding). The middle bump is slightly larger than the outer bumps for better grip.
• Oversized recycled edge - All Jones boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges for increased durability and improved manufacturing sustainability.

OTHERS

• Bio resin - All Jones boards are now built with renewable bio epoxies instead of petroleum-based epoxies. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products from other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
• Factory Tuned - All Jones snowboards are factory-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go straight from the shop to the mountain.
• Wend Natural Wax - All Jones boards come from the factory with a special WEND natural wax that makes the board glide smoothly downhill. This wax also releases gradually for a flowing ride.
