Poplar is a lightweight, durable and flexible wood that absorbs vibrations very well, flexes generously and has pop. Used as the sole wood in these skis, it makes them maneuverable and comfortable while providing sufficient torsional stability for high-speed descents.
Full Strength Sidewall
Full sidewall construction places a protective material alongside the wood core, between the edge and topsheet, providing maximum edge grip, stability and durability.
Freeride Flat Tail
The traditional straight-tail design is built for stability at speed, very good edge grip and control in aggressive turns. Brought into the modern era, it has minimal rocker that allows the ski to pivot easily in variable conditions and prevents catching in fresh snow.
Elliptical Sidecut
Elliptical Sidecut is created with a larger radius underfoot and a smaller radius at the tip and tail. The larger underfoot radius facilitates pivoting, while the smaller radius at the tip and tail makes turn initiation easier. This type of sidecut allows skiers a variety of angles, turn lengths and binding mounting positions.
Dual Span Titanal
Titanium is one of the stiffest metals, and its isotropic qualities, being equally hard in all directions, mean that it gives the ski stability for charging at high speeds in any conditions and provides very good edge grip.
Anti Chip Micro Cap
Micro-cap construction is a hybrid of premium full sidewall construction and durable, lightweight cap construction. Micro-cap provides very good edge grip and torsional stability, and the ski's topsheet covers the sidewall very well at the junction prone to chipping.
Mustache Flex
This type of flex is very good for most skiers. You enjoy stability behind and in front of the binding for good edge grip, then the flex becomes progressive at the tip and tail to better absorb impacts in variable snow. This type of flex allows easier turn initiation and completion.
XL 2.5MM Edges
The 2.5mm edges are thicker than the standard 1.8mm edges, and the 35% increase gives the skis extra durability to support an aggressive skiing style.
Sustainable Wood Core
The wood materials used by Faction are sourced close to the production factories to reduce the carbon footprint from transportation. The materials are FSC accredited, which means the wood is sustainably harvested.
100% Renewable Energy
Faction skis are produced in state-of-the-art factories that use 100% renewable electricity and have low annual CO2 emissions.
Locally Sourced Materials
In an effort to reduce environmental impact, Faction uses materials from Europe located near the factories.
