Rocker Type
- Directional Rocker – A hybrid rocker/camber flex, defined by more rocker in the nose than in the tail, with camber between the bindings.
- The rockered nose offers float in powder and helps board maneuverability, while camber provides grip and response. The slightly rockered tail maintains the board's power and stability and eliminates catching during turns or switch landings.
Flex 6/10 - Forever Flex – All Jones boards feature Forever Flex technology, intended to maintain the same board flex for a very long time after initial use.
Shape
- 3D Contour Base 2.0 - Moderate 3D base contours featuring an even balance between the 4 mm edge bevel at the nose and 4 mm at the tail. The spoon bevel begins at the rocker point.
- Progressive sidecut - At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius increases progressively as the edge reaches the contact point. The gradual increase of the sidecut radius toward the contact point provides smoother turn initiation and exit, because the edge enters and exits the snow with a smoother, more flowing transition.

Blunt Nose - How a board glides in powder, crust, corn or any snow more than an inch deep, is dictated by it’s front contact point and just past it. Next time you are in soft snow watch how much snow comes over the corner of the nose near the contact point. The billowing snow coming out from behind the tip means you are plowing through it which is obviously slowing you down. By adding a blunt nose you get the float benefits of a much longer nose without the ‘snow plow’ rounded tip and it’s extra swing weight. - Jeremy Jones
Core
- FSC™ Power Core - Triple-density wood core with hardwood bamboo stringers for added strength, pop and durability, plus paulownia to reduce weight.
- V-Core - V-Core boards are slightly lighter right in the middle of the board for improved maneuverability and stiffer in the tip and tail for stability and pop.
Laminates/Layers
- Biax Fiberglass - A two-layer, two-direction fiberglass laminate that offers a forgiving, playful ride.
Base
- Sintered 8000 Base - New super-durable material made from very-high-molecular-weight polyethylene and carbon.
Edges
- Traction Tech 2.0 – The Frontier has slightly serrated edges to cut through ice on the slopes and hard snow when needed. Edge grip is improved.
- Oversized Recycled Edges – All Jones boards have oversized recycled steel edges, offering increased durability.
Others
- Bio resin - All Jones boards are now built with renewable bio epoxies instead of petroleum-based epoxies. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products from other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
- Factory Tuned - All Jones snowboards are factory-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go straight from the shop to the mountain.
- Wend Natural Wax - All Jones boards come from the factory with a special WEND natural wax that makes the board glide smoothly downhill. This wax also releases gradually for a flowing ride.

In conclusion, the Frontier suits those seeking a freeride board that is not 100% freeride. A directionally optimized board that you can also ride switch. The board is fairly forgiving and easy to handle, not too stiff or demanding.
