FiltersThe snowboard is your main piece of equipment for snowboarding. Not all boards are the same - a good one gives you the confidence to try new things, while a bad one ruins your day. At SnowSports, we know the difference because we test every snowboard we sell.
Why buy your snowboard from us? We do not sell you an ordinary snowboard. We offer you our experience of over 10 years on the mountain and advice on choosing the right board for your riding style.
We can take pride in our knowledge of the technical aspects of a snowboard, and we can offer advice to riders of every level, whether you are a beginner afraid to use your edges or a powder hunter who spends their money on helicopters in the Făgăraș Mountains. The SnowSports team can help you with any kind of recommendation.
Each technical characteristic determines the nature of the board and the terrain it is designed for. In general, snowboards are intended for three main categories: Freeride, All Mountain and Freestyle/Park.
The characteristics of a freeride board include stiffness, float in deep, fresh snow, durable materials, complex vibration absorption systems, and aggressive, pronounced edges for a high level of control.
For freeride boards, we recommend using stiff snowboard bindings and snowboard boots with a stiffness rating between 6 and 9.
An all-mountain board is a complete board that brings a balance between riding styles. It usually has medium stiffness and camber with rocker (rocker to make it more forgiving). You will be able to ride it on the slopes, try tricks in the park and, when there is powder, venture a little off-piste.
For all-mountain boards, we generally recommend medium-flex boots and bindings with a similar flex. This way, you can take advantage of the balance between a stiff setup and a softer one for fun.

The most important characteristics of a freestyle board are its weight and the forgiveness of its edges. A board dedicated to complex tricks needs weight perfectly distributed along its length, soft flex and responsive edges.
For freestyle boards, we generally recommend Bataleon boards most often, as they have 3BT technology that makes the board more forgiving of mistakes. If you would still prefer another brand, you can check the snowboard category for boards with a softer flex.

At SnowSports, you will find snowboards from Jones, Nidecker, Bataleon and K2 - brands tested in every condition you might encounter on the mountain.
We recommend visiting our showroom at 62–68 Calea Moșilor in Bucharest to test and see the boards in person. If you cannot make it, we are friendly - call us to discuss the right board for your riding style.
Ultimately, whether you like carving on the slopes, jumping in the park or freeriding, you need the right snowboard. The choice is yours - we are here to help you make it.
