Jones Storm Chaser 26/27 Unisex Snowboard is a surf-inspired freeride model designed for deep powder days and riders looking for maximum float, agile handling and a surf-like feeling on the mountain. Developed with renowned surfboard shaper Chris Christenson, the Storm Chaser features an ultra-wide, volume-shifted outline and a nimble swallowtail, making it ideal for deep snow and low-angle terrain.

The Volume-Shifted Directional shape moves more surface area toward the nose for outstanding float in deep snow while keeping the board shorter, agile and easy to maneuver. Thanks to this design, Jones recommends choosing the Storm Chaser approximately 6-10 cm shorter than a traditional freeride snowboard.

The Float CamRock profile combines a long nose rocker with fully extended tail camber. This setup provides exceptional glide in soft snow while maintaining the edge grip, drive and stability needed for powerful carving on groomed terrain.

The 20 mm High Taper further enhances the board's powder-focused performance. The wider nose stays above the snow while the narrower tail naturally sinks, helping the rider initiate fast and controlled turns.

The High 3D Contour Base uses surf-inspired shaping with 4-8 mm of spoon bevel in the nose and 0-7 mm in the tail. This design reduces drag, improves glide and allows smoother transitions from one edge to the other.

Low Traction Tech incorporates three subtle traction points positioned around the front binding, board center and rear binding. These additional contact points improve edge grip and control on firmer snow.

The medium 6/10 flex provides a balanced combination of stability, response and maneuverability. The Storm Chaser remains intuitive and forgiving enough for smooth turns while offering the support needed for carving and higher-speed riding.

The Master Core uses a dual-density combination of responsibly harvested Paulownia and Poplar wood with a 1:1 stringer ratio. This construction helps reduce weight while maintaining pop, strength and long-term durability.

Biax Fiberglass features a dual-layer, dual-directional laminate construction that delivers a predictable board feel, balanced torsional flex and quick energy transfer.

ampliTex Carbon / Flax Stringers combine carbon with naturally sourced flax fibers developed in collaboration with Swiss engineering company Bcomp. This hybrid construction enhances response while supporting a high-performance board feel.

The Sintered 8000 Base is fast, durable, highly wax absorbent and easy to repair. The board comes factory waxed with WEND natural wax so it is ready to ride straight out of the shop.

Forever Flex stabilizes the snowboard's flex and rocker profile throughout its lifespan. The boards are initially overbuilt and then mechanically broken in using a process designed to simulate approximately 20 days of riding, creating a more consistent flex from day one.

Bio Resin is a bio-based epoxy containing 27% plant-based carbon and helps reduce CO2 emissions compared with conventional petroleum-based epoxy.

Recycled German steel edges are engineered for strength and long-lasting durability, while recycled ABS sidewalls help reduce topsheet chipping and protect the board against impact damage.

The Storm Chaser is primarily designed for freeride and powder, where it receives a 10/10 rating. It is rated 6/10 for all-mountain and resort riding and 2/10 for freestyle and park use.
